Leader of the Opposition in Kerala VS Achuthanandan has demanded that Chief Secretary EK Bharat Bhushan be kept out of office for suppressing details of assets held by him.

Achuthanandan also has asked for a probe against Bhushan in what is among the latest in a series of developments that has put top officials in the State not only against own IAS ranks but increasingly against politicians also.

Achuthanandan said in a statement here on Thursday that the statement of assets furnished by Bhushan did not contain the details of the flat and house owned by him and his wife in Kochi and Noida.

Neither had he accepted the confidential report of K Suresh Kumar, another top IAS official, cleared by Achuthanandan when he was the Chief Minister.

Though he had written to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy about it, no decision had been taken so far, Achuthanandan said.

This preceded developments in the Assembly this morning when an adjournment motion was sought to be moved by the Opposition citing alleged discontent within the IAS ranks leading to what it described as a deadlock in the State administration.
