The police on Monday arrested several Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party workers in eight cities in the State for attacking and destroying toll plazas.

The party workers swung into action after party supremo Raj Thackeray ordered them not to pay toll and retort if anyone demanded money. Toll booths were attacked in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Pune, Aurangabad, Sangli and Nagpur.

On Sunday night while inaugurating a party office in Navi Mumbai, Thackeray had asked his workers to destroy the toll plazas if they demand money.
