Nitte University donates ₹25 lakh to flood relief

The staff members and students coming under Nitte University have contributed ₹25 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

A press release by the Dakshina Kannada district administration said here on Saturday the university donated the amount to take up relief operations in Jammu and Kashmir that was affected by floods recently.

The amount was contributed by teaching, non-teaching staff members and students in the three campuses of the university at Nitte in Udupi district, Deralakatte in Dakshina Kannada district and Bangalore. The university handed over a cheque to the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, AB Ibrahim, on Saturday, it added.
