New policy promises permissions in a month

The IT industry in Andhra Pradesh will have no power cuts. It will be exempt from Labour Laws and Shops and Establishments Act allowing for 24x7 operations through out the year. The new IT Policy, approved by the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet here on Friday, also allows the industry to utilise the services of women in night shifts.

It also proposes to set up a single window clearance cell that works 24 hours a day. The centralised help desk, which will use the e-biz portal launched by the Union Government, will reduce time to set up business and reduce cost of doing business.

Talking on the salient features of the policy here on Friday, AP IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that a time-bound approval system would be put in place. “If you don’t get an approval in four weeks of submission of an application, the approval shall be deemed to have been given,” he said.
