The Kerala Government has announced the formation of a Special Audit Authority to take up a Supreme Court-mandated audit of the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple here.

The team will assist former comptroller and auditor-general Vinod Rai who the apex court had picked earlier for coordinating the audit.

An official spokesman said here that KS Premachandra Kurup, former labour commissioner, Kerala, would be the Secretary of the Audit Authority.

Five senior audit officials who retired from the office of the Accountant-General will be members of the team, the spokesman added.
