Telangana Govt sets up social media cell

The Telangana Government has set up a dedicated social media cell to get in touch with the people. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s office will soon have a Twitter account and a Facebook page, his son and IT Minister Taraka Rama Rao.

Social utility Sharing his views on social media and its utility in public services at a meeting of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) on Saturday evening, he said the IT Minister had just opened a Facebook page.

The council held a discussion on ‘Social media in today’s world’.

“We, the politicians, deal with two different forms of media — print and electronic. Now we have third menace which is a social media. It is really challenging for us,” he said.

Industry size PRCI national President Ajai Agarwal has put the size of the public industry at ₹1,200-1,500 crore.
