Amaravati advisory panel to chart out road map

To hand over developed land to farmers

An integrated road map for development of the capital city of Amaravati and the region is proposed to be charted out by the Advisory Panel set up by Andhra Pradesh.

At a meeting chaired by P. Narayana, State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, who is also the Chairman of the Advisory Committee, it was decided to come out with a plan to expedite the implementation.

This is the first meeting held after the Singapore Government submitted the Seed Capital City plan last month.

Others who attended include Bommidala Srinivas of the GMR Group, M. Prabhakar Rao of Nuziveedu Seeds, Srinivas Raju of Peepul Capital, former MLA Mastan Rao and Srikant N Chairman of Capital Region Area Development Authority.

According to a statement from the Minister’s office, the meeting had elaborate discussions on the way forward and the proposed comprehensive road map for expediting the construction of the capital city and its infrastructure.

During the meeting, the committee decided that the farmers who parted with the land under the land pooling process for the development of the capital city would be provided the developed land as assured by the Government. Accordingly, layouts would be prepared and the developed land handed over to the farmers.

The Minister also decided to shift the urban development ministry to the capital region at the earliest.
