Andhra CM to woo Japanese investors during six-day tour

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, is set to lead a delegation to Japan to invite firms to explore opportunities of cooperation and invest in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu’s 18-member delegation begins its tour on Monday.

He is being accompanied by the same team that visited Singapore recently. The team includes Cabinet colleagues Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and P Narayana, AP special representative in Delhi K Rammohan Rao, senior officials, MP and industrialist and CII representative Jaydev Galla and MP and industrialist C M Ramesh.

During his busy schedule, Naidu is scheduled to meet the representatives of many large corporations, including Panasonic, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Corporation, Suzuki, and Nippon Yusen Kaisha.

He is also slated to meet representatives from Sotbank, which has had several big investments in India.

During the visit, several State Government and interactive industry consultations have been organised by Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro) and the local chambers of commerce and industry.

IT forum

Naidu is expected to address an IT forum in Kyoto seeking to woo firms to the State. During the meeting with Japan International Cooperation Agency and later with Chiba smart City, he is expected to call upon them to invest in smart city projects in the State.

This is the second trip he will be taking up overseas within a month to woo overseas investors offering them opportunities to invest in the State.

He had recently concluded a tour of Singapore and sought their participation in development of new capital and smart cities and also investments in several other sectors, including power.
