In view of its long coast line, the Andhra Pradesh government is planning to develop coastal cities. Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Machilipatnam and Krishnapatnam ports should be developed as coastal cities and the inland waterway system of Kakinada-Puducherry and Kakinada-Bhadrachalam to the nearby ports should be interlinked, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said in a review meeting on energy, investments and infrastructure here on Tuesday. The objective is to make the State a logistics hub for south-east Asia by linking ports to national highways.
