“Coimbatore has stood for industrial innovation, entrepreneurial resilience and inclusive growth thanks to the outstanding knowledge sector that has been prevalent in this region,” she added.
The industry executive was speaking at the businessline MSME Growth Conclave 2025 in Coimbatore 2025. A strong proponent of sustainability and innovation in the textile sector, Nandini has been a key voice for women in industry, Coimbatore’s growth and MSME excellence.
Speaking about the opportunities for MSMEs in the volatile world, Nandini noted that the defence space, which is traditionally closed and rigid, is now opening up thanks to a fundamental mindset shift along with a change in policy. “Coimbatore uniquely positioned to take advantage of these changes,” she added.

Backbone of economy
Nandini said MSMEs are the backbone of Coimbatore’s economy, and lauded the industry’s capabilities and work ethic. “We are more than ready to claim our place in global ecosystem,” she added. The MSME sector’s emphasis on quality and indigenous problem solving skills set them apart, she added.
Nandini also listed the various initiatives of CII for promoting Coimbatore as a manufacturing hub and as a hub for industrial R&Ds, and urged MSMEs to take advantage of it.
