The All India Distributors body has announced a nationwide boycott of Turkish-origin Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) products.
The All India Consumer Products Distributors Federation (AICPDF) has issued a directive to distributors across the country to withdraw Turkey-origin goods from supply chains, warehouses, retail counters and platforms. It includes all forms of direct and indirect imports.
FMCG products that are on the list to boycott include Turkish delight, golden truffle, Turkish luxury chocolate, premium Turkish chocolate bars, biscuits and confectionery, personal care and household, cosmetics and skincare and imported Turkish soap sets.
The organisation stated that it was unacceptable and provocative stand taken by Turkey in support of Pakistan during India’s “Operation Sindoor”, “The Indian trade and retail fraternity stands firm — no nation that challenges India’s security and dignity will be allowed to profit from our markets,” mentions a statement from AICPDF.
“India’s marketplace must reflect its pride, not its vulnerabilities. We cannot allow the rupee spent by our consumers to be used against our country’s soldiers. This boycott is a message to all hostile regimes — we are not just distributors; we are sentinels of India’s retail economy,” said Dhairyashil Patil, National President of AICPDF.
