Heavy overnight rains lashed the city leading to water logging across all major thoroughfares and even arterial roads.
Peak hour traffic in the city remained slow moving.
According to sources in the Meteorological department, the rains are likely to continue till today afternoon; after which the situation may improve.
The city is expected to have received at least 100 mm of rains (overnight).
Many schools have declared the day a holiday.
