The Consulate General of Israel has opened its new premises in Bengaluru.
The Consulate office for South India was established here in 2013, as the third Israeli diplomatic mission in India, the other two in New Delhi and Mumbai.
The office covers Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Consulate General of Israel in Bengaluru deals with Trade, Consular Affairs, Culture and Public Diplomacy among many other areas.
The office looks after the Agriculture Co-operation Agreement signed between India and Israel in 2008, and with the three-year work plan finalised between the Ministries of Agriculture in 2011. Indo-Israel agriculture co-operation projects are in various stages of implementation across India.
Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon said, “Our consulate in Bengaluru is not just a symbol of the tightening relations between Israel and India but a real manifestation of the progress Israel and India have made through the years. It is the answer for a growing need on both sides to create more channels with southern India.”
