Kallol Datta, former CMD of Andrew Yule, passed away at a private hospital here on Tuesday. He was 65.
He obtained a Masters degree from IIT-Kharagpur in Mechanical Engineering, and is best remembered for his nine-year stint as Andrew Yule’s CMD. Apart from Andrew Yule, he was MD of Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd; served as CEO of Webfil Ltd, and also as an Independent Non Executive Chairman of Tide Water Oil Co (India) Ltd. He had also been a past president of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
