Karnataka to send relief materials worth Rs 10 cr to flood-hit Kerala

Expressing shock over the death of 22 persons due to floods in north and central Kerala, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that Karnataka would extend every possible support.

He has directed Chief Secretary T M Vijayabhaskar to send relief materials worth Rs 10 crore and a team of doctors to Kerala. On request of the Kerala Government, 75,000 cusecs water is being released from Kabini reservoir as the backwaters are adding to the woes of flood-hit Kerala, he said.

Kumarawsamy also called Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and discussed about the flood relief measures.
