Singareni Collieries turnover up 11% in FY17

Registers 2 per cent growth in coal output, 4 per cent in dispatches

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited has registered a turnover of Rs 18,389 crore for 2016-2017, up 11.3 per cent over previous years’ turnover of Rs 16,516.

The State-owned mining company surpassed its annual coal production target by logging in coal production of 61.4 million tonnes during 2016-2017 (106 per cent) as against a target of 58 MT.

The coal dispatches was up at 60.80 MT (105 per cent) as against 58 MT, the highest in the history of the company during a single financial year.

This reflects a growth of 2 per cent over the last year’s coal production (60.3 MT) and 4 per cent growth over last year's dispatches.

N. Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCCL, in a statement congratulated all employees for their remarkable achievement and thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for their support in the progress of company.

The SCCL's overburden removal also registered a growth of 2 per cent at 317 million cubic metres against the target of 311 million cubic metres.

All the 11 coal producing areas surpassed their previous highest production records. These include Bellampalli, the Ramagundem area and Bhupalapalli.

The Singareni thermal power project Jaipur of Mancheriyal district produced 4,246 million units of thermal power. Out of which 3941 million units of power is supplied to Telangana.
