The newly-formed Telangana State Government will give primacy to industry and agriculture, according to its Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
In his maiden public address at the Parade Grounds after taking over as Chief Minister of the 29th State in India, Rao said a new industrial policy with single-window clearance would be announced shortly.
About one-third of pharma and poultry industries in the country are based out of the State, he said, adding that a consultative approach would be adopted to promote these sectors further.
The power-shortage in Telangana would be addressed on a priority basis and the State would be made power surplus state within three years.
To attract global IT companies to Hyderabad, a fool-proof law and order maintenance would be ensured in Cyberabad. Hyderabad would also be made a global city without slums, he said.

Referring to agriculture, Rao said the State would be transformed into a 'seed bowl’ of the country by harnessing its inherent potential to be so. Agricultural universities and research would also be strengthened.
The state government would be welfare-driven, he said adding the elimination of political corruption and ensuring transparency would be main the objectives.
All promises made in the election manifesto including agricultural loan waiver for loans up to Rs 1 lakh, pension for the elderly, widows and beedi workers, increase of state Govt employees salaries on the par with those in the central government would be fulfilled, the chief minister said.
He also promised comprehensive reforms in the police department to ensure welfare of the police and better policing.
