The futility of the BJP's claim that the Central Government is spending 85 per cent on passenger fares for sending migrant workers to their home states has been exposed, according to Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary and Spokesperson Sachin Sawant.

This has exposed the lies of the BJP and BJP Maharashtra state president Chandrakant Patil should immediately apologise to the people, demanded Sachin Sawant.

Sawant in a media statement on Friday said that even though the State Governments were paying all the expenses for the train tickets of the migrant workers, the BJP leaders were repeatedly making misleading statements about the expenses. The BJP State President Chandrakant Patil had falsely stated that 85 per cent of the travel expenses of these workers are being borne by the central government and 15 per cent by state governments. Along with Chandrakant Patil, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Prakash Javadekar and many other leaders were also at the forefront in making the false claim about the expenses.

The BJP leaders are conspiring to discredit the opposition governments by politicizing the Corona crisis and have also politicized the sensitive issue of migrant workers. The Railway Minister Piyush Goyal is also in the lead, Sawant said

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress had publicly challenged BJP state president Chandrakant Patil to show the order about the expenses or apologize to the people. The BJP has fled from accepting the challenge, Sawant added.
