Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that ‘New India’ is the manifestation of the strength, skills and vision of all the 125 crore Indians.

Addressing the nation through his ‘Mann Ki Baat’, he talked about a range of topics including the issues of depression, increase in maternity leave and growing acceptance of digital payments post demonetisation.

He said that ‘New India’ in the 21st century cannot be defined by a government policy or the manifesto of a political party, but is a collective responsibility and is a manifestation of the strength of all the Indians who will create "Bhavya Bharat".

Pointing out to the government's vision to ensure the country's newborns get proper care, Modi said that working women will now be given maternity leave of 26 weeks, instead of the earlier 12 weeks, for their pregnancy and delivery.

In his radio address, he also thanked the people of the country for participating in digital payment Digidhan movement. He said that post demonetisation the citizens of the country are curious and are fast learning to adopt cashless modes of payment.
