Scuffle breaks out at Hazare fast venue

A group of people, carrying the tricolour and claiming to be NSUI activists, shouted slogans as Team Anna began its fast here on Wednesday, where hundreds of people had gathered in support of the fast.

This led to a minor scuffle after which the ‘NSUI poeple’ were removed by Team Anna.

Soon after, Team Anna sent audio copies to the media in which the ‘NSUI activists’ were shouting slogans such as, “

Anna ko dhakka dedo, Arvind ko maro (push Anna, beat Arvind)”.

Meanwhile, people thronged the venue where three Team Anna members, Mr Arvind Kejriwal, Mr Manish Sisodia and Mr Gopal Rai began a hunger strike. Mr Hazare has said he will wait for four days for the Government to react and then join the fast.

The three key demands by Team Anna are an independent SIT headed by three retired judges to probe allegations against 15 Cabinet Ministers, all CBI cases against political party chiefs, which are being used to arm-twist them, be shifted to this SIT, and fast-track courts be set up to ‘sanitise’ Parliament by disposing of existing cases against MPs within six months.
