Spinny closes 800 car sales on Akshaya Tritiya

Consumers are increasingly marking Akshaya Tritiya with big-ticket purchases beyond gold, including automobiles. This year, used car retailer Spinny capitalised on the festive momentum by delivering over 800 cars in a single day.

The surge in demand was especially prominent in major metro cities such as Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Pune, and Mumbai.

Founded in 2015, Gurugram-based Spinny facilitates buying and selling of pre-owned cars online, aiming to make the process transparent and hassle free.

The Gurugram-based used car platform saw a 25 per cent rise in women buyers in April, with over 1,000 purchases.

Automatic transmission share rose to 29 per cent, and SUV deliveries grew 28 per cent year-on-year. Petrol remained dominant, with 85 per cent of sales accounting for petrol- fuelled cars, while white, grey, and red were the most popular colours s.

Popular brands

The most popular brands were Maruti, Hyundai, and Honda, collectively accounting for 63 per cent of all deliveries. The Baleno, Grand i10, and Kwid emerged as the most preferred models across the country.
