Online hotel booking website, Hotels.com, has revealed that staycations (a holiday spent in one's home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions) have been the most prominent trend witnessed for Valentine’s Day, where couples with high disposable incomes, mostly from metro cities, choose to take a couple of days off in a luxury hotel.

The preferred destinations within India include Goa, Manali and Jaipur, each of which exudes its unique romantic charm such as beaches, snow-capped hills and cultural architecture.
