Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has asked the Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad to extend the deadline for the delivery of CMR (Custom Milling Rice) to the Central by at least four months. “We need more time to complete the delivery of the CMR rice. We request you to extend the deadline to four months from the present deadline of one month,” the Chief Minister appealed to the Union Minister.

Revanth Reddy, along with State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, met the Union Minister in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss various issues around the supply of rice to the Central pool and pending bills.

He also asked the Minister to clear the long-pending dues of ₹1,468.94 crore from the Centre towards the supply of rice to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) during the 2014-15 Kharif season.

He also appealed to him to release the arrears of ₹343.27 crore for the supply of rice from May 2021 to March 2022 and in April 2022, for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.

The Chief Minister also asked Joshi, who also handles the Renewable Energy portfolio, to restore the 4,000 MW solar power generation permit granted to the State under the PM Kusum scheme.

“Though we were sanctioned 4,000 MW, it was curtailed to 1,000 MW. As we are already promoting women’s self-help groups to lead power generation enterprises, we request you to restore the earlier limit of 4,000 MW,” a CMO statement, quoting the Chief Minister said.
