Tamil Nadu reported 1,562 persons infected with Covid-19 today. This takes the total cases in the State to 33,229.
In Chennai alone 1,149 persons were affected today. Total cases in the city stood at 23,298.
On Monday, 528 persons were discharged after treatment taking the total number of persons recovered from the virus to 17,527. This leaves the active cases in the State at 15,413.
Today, 17 Covid-19 patients died to take the total fatalities to 286.
A total of 14,982 samples were tested today.
