The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) will conduct a training programme on ‘Livelihood Promotion for Distress Migrants and other Vulnerable Groups’ from July 23 to 27.

The programme will identify and discuss the reasons for distress among rural labourers and create an awareness on the existing social security and developmental schemes.

“The programme is aimed at addressing the livelihood issues related to migrants and other vulnerable groups such as women, disabled and single persons in rural areas,” Digambar Abaji Chimankar, Course Coordinator at the Centre for Wage Employment at the institute, said in a statement.

“This programme will help participants to guide migrants labour wherever they are working. They will be able to guide the people on what kind of skill programmes in the farm and non-farm sector are being run by the governments,” he said.
