South Asian bands to kick off fest in Delhi

Delhi’s historic Purana Qila will resound with the music of bands coming from as far as Afghanistan, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh: among 14 rock acts from the SAARC region.

The 8th edition of South Asian Bands Festival, from November 7 to 9, is being presented by Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Seher. This year, the festival features performances by Alobo Naga and The Band (ANB) from Dimapur, Nagaland, formed in 2010, Pakistani singing sensation Zebunissa Bangash, who recently made her foray in Bollywood with hit songs in films like Madras Café and Highway , and also a band called Success, from France (a guest nation).

This time around, the desi hard rock band Pentagram, fronted by film musician Vishal Dadlani (one half of the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar), will enthral the audience, an official release said.
