The wooden flooring business of H&R Johnson (India), Johnson Woodenza, a division of Prism Cement Limited, plans to expand its franchisee retail network to focus on high-volume markets.

The company plans to create a specialised franchised hub network in markets like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata and Ludhiana. This network will recruit multiple retail counters to drive business volumes.

H&R Johnson expects South India to contribute nearly 30 per cent of business volumes in the Woodenza business, while North and West India are expected to contribute approximately 25 per cent, and the East nearly 20 per cent.

On the scale-up of its Woodenza business, Mr Vijay Aggarwal, Managing Director, Prism Cement Limited said in the release, “The wooden flooring segment is growing approximately 40 per cent every year, and is the preferred choice in shops, restaurants, hotel rooms, and residential projects. Our business scale-up plans for Woodenza is in line with our commitment to grow in the wooden flooring business by delivering stylish products to consumers.”

Johnson Woodenza products are an international range sourced from some of the top wooden flooring brands globally.

Godrej Properties launches next phase

Godrej Properties Ltd, the real estate development arm of the Godrej Group, has launched Phase IV of Godrej Prakriti, a residential project in Kolkata. The 19-floor tower will offer 2- and 3-Bedroom-Hall-Kitchen units of 800-1,254 square feet.

Godrej Prakriti is located on BT road, a few minutes away from the closest bus stop, railway station, auto-rickshaw stand and taxi stand, according to a press release from the company.

The proposed Metro Railway extension from Baranagar to Barrackpore will be close to the project, and English-medium schools such as St. Xavier's Institution, Adamas International and Aryan's fall within a 3 km-radius.

The 22-acre, Godrej Prakriti, offers the conveniences of modern urban living.

In addition to Prakriti, the company also has two commercial projects in Kolkata – Godrej Waterside and Godrej Genesis in Sector V, Salt Lake. Wadia's city-within-city in Mumbai

The Wadia Group, which has a diversified presence across a range of sectors, has launched Mumbai's first fully-integrated “Mixed Use” development, the Island City Centre located in the heart of the island city of Mumbai.
