Lodha group’s fund for start-ups

Leading real estate developer Lodha Group has launched an investment fund for start-ups focussed on smart city solutions and the real estate sector, with an initial investment corpus of ₹50 crore. The fund will invest at all stages of the development cycle of a start-up, including early stage. Within real estate, it will look at all aspects of the value chain such as digital marketing, analytics, customer relationship management and smart city services. The first round of investments will be completed by March.

Everstone invests in OmniActive

The Everstone Group has invested about ₹240 crore ($35 million) in Mumbai-based OmniActive Health Technologies Ltd. This is Everstone’s third in the healthcare and wellness sector in less than a year. OmniActive, a leading supplier of natural sourced ingredients for eye health, weight management and heart health to global nutraceutical companies, will use the money to diversify and expand its offerings. It will use the money to also grow inorganically.

MobiDent raises pre-Series A MobiDent, a Bengaluru-based dental care company, has raised an undisclosed pre-Series A round of funding from New York-based DanGold Investment Corp. It will use the money to roll out home dental services in 12 new markets, including Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai and Hyderabad. With this funding, MobiDent will hire 250 dentists and invest in strengthening digital technology, marketing and sales. In August 2016, MobiDent got funding from Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship at the IIM-Ahmedabad.

Link Legal-DH Law merger Link Legal India Law Services and DH Law Associates have merged their practices effective January 1. The merged entity will be known as Link Legal – India Law Services. Link Legal began operations in 1999 and in 2012 Link Legal and India Law Services integrated their practices to form Link Legal – India Law Services. DH Law was founded in 1997.
