Emami turns sporty

The Rs 4,000 crore diversified business conglomerate, Emami Ltd has selected five celebrated sports persons for endorsing its brand Fast Relief.

The company has roped in cricketer Gautam Gambhir, Olympic Medalist Indian Boxer Vijender Singh, Badminton Champion Saina Nehwal, five times World Boxing Champion Mary Kom and World Champion Wrestler Mr. Sushil Kumar as brand ambassadors.

Mr Amitabh Bachchan would also continue to endorse the brand, said a press statement issued by Emami.

Emami holds nearly 13 per cent share of the Rs 3,000 crore pain management category market.

Apart from Fast Relief, the company also has two other brands in the segment - Zandu Balm and Mentho plus balm. Together, these brands churned a turnover of Rs 387 crore in 2011-12, said Mr. N. Krishna Mohan, chief executive officer – sales, supply chain & human capital, Emami Ltd.
