Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Monday said it sold 62,996 factory-fitted CNG vehicles in the last financial year (2014-15), a growth of 23 per cent over the previous year.

The contribution of CNG vehicles to total sales increased to 5.4 per cent last year, from 4.9 per cent in 2013-14, it said in a statement.

Factory-fitted CNG cars were first introduced in India in 2010. The company offers six dual fuel (CNG+petrol) models, including Alto, Alto K-10, Celerio, Wagon R, Eeco and Ertiga.

"In cities such as Delhi and Mumbai where distribution infrastructure is in place and CNG for automobiles is available, almost 50 per cent sales of Wagon R, Eeco and Ertiga are accounted for by the CNG variants," it said.

Powered by the Intelligent Gas Port Injection (i-GPi) technology, MSIL’s CNG vehicles deliver the advantage of fuel efficiency, besides safety, reliability and performance, it said.

High quality and full warranty

Maruti Suzuki CNG vehicles pass stringent tests for quality and safety. They are offered with seamless warranty and service support at 3,500 service stations across the country, it added.
