Ticket sale begins for IPL matches in Hyderabad

Sunrisers, the Hyderabad-based cricket franchisee of Sun TV Networks, has announced the sale of tickets for the Indian Premier League.

The first match for the 2013 season will be played between Pune Warriors and Sunrisers at Hyderabad team home base in Rajiv Gandhi stadium here on April 5.

The ticket will be sold at Café Coffee Day outlets in the city and at Gymkhana grounds and online

>. The stadium has a capacity to host about 32,000.

The ticket price ranges from Rs 250 for the north pavilion terrace and Rs 300 for the east stand first floor. Other denominations are Rs 500, Rs 750, Rs 2,000, Rs 2,500 and Rs 4,000. There is also a facility for corporate bulk bookings.

Ticket buyers can meet former cricketers Tom Moody and Waqar Younus at Gymkhana Grounds when they visit it to buy tickets at certain designated time.

Given the recent incidents of blasts in the twin cities, the city police is expected to continue to have strict security measures. Fans will not be allowed to take their mobile phones along with them into the stadium.

The Hyderabad team is now under a new franchisee Sunrisers after Deccan Chargers was removed by the governing council of IPL.

The team is lead by Sri Lankan player Kumara Sangakkara and includes Jean-Paul Duminy, Shikar Dhawan, Darren Sammy and Dale Steyn. The Hyderabad team had won the title in 2009.
