Auto stocks reeling under pressure

Auto index became the biggest sectoral loser, losing 102 points in the morning trade on the BSE today.

Led by a sharp decline in the share prices of Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and M&M, the auto index became the biggest sectoral loser, losing 102 points in the morning trade on the BSE today.

Bajaj Auto was down by Rs 14.60 to Rs 1,432.55. Markets await the Q1 results due today and what the company would say about its performance for the current year at the AGM to be held today.

Hero MotoCorp was trading at Rs 2,069, a loss of Rs 29.85 and Mahindra & Mahindra shed Rs 11.55 to trade at Rs 697.15.

Maruti Suzuki was down by Rs 5.45 at Rs 1,191.15 and Tata Motors , which has been shedding value recently, was down by Rs 3.50 to Rs 222.40.
