Cyclone Hudhud crosses coast near Vizag

Cyclone Hudhud has crossed the coast near Pudimadaka off Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, the intensity of cyclone in the four districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and East Godavari is expected to be weakened by this evening.

There was total disruption of transport and communication networks in these districts, especially, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.

About one lakh people were evacuated so far and were provided shelter in the relief camps.
