First set of public toilets launched under Swachh Bharat Mission

₹1,800-cr campaign for awareness to be launched soon: Venkaiah Naidu 

Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday inaugurated two blocks of public toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Comprising a total of 17 toilets, these two blocks have been built by the New Delhi Municipal Council at a total cost of ₹12.50 lakh for residents of two JJ Clusters in New Delhi. Of these toilets, 8 are for women and two for differently-abled persons, a statement from the Urban Development Ministry said.

Stating that behavioural changes are critical for the success of Swachh Bharat Mission, Naidu said that an intensive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign would be launched soon to create awareness.
