It’s a complete rout for the Congress in Andhra Pradesh. At its expense, the TRS in Telangana and TDP-BJP alliance in Seemandra have scored impressive victories. The Congress, which had 33 MPs in the 15{+t}{+h} Lok Sabha, has been handed a shock in Telangana and totally shut out in Seemandhra. Its attempt to use the division of the State as a last ditch gamble to win some seats in Telangana too came a cropper.

The anger of the people seemed so intense that the grand old party has been reduced to zero from 21 in Seemandhra and two from 12 in Telangana. Virtually all its Union Ministers and top leaders bit the dust.

While the TDP-BJP alliance, riding on a high pitched Naidu-Modi-Pawan Kalyan campaign romped home in 17 of the 25 seats in Seemandhra, the TRS, led by K Chandrasekhara Rao, bucked a nationwide Modi wave to sit pretty with 11 of the 17 seats in Telangana.
