“Son of Jhelum who remains an enduring inspiration”, writes former Pakistani Minister on PM Manmohan Singh’s demise

‘It is truly saddening to hear about the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh, the economic stability India enjoys today is largely due to his visionary policies’

Former Indian PM Manmohan Singh was the “son of Jhelum” - because of his origins at Gah village of Jhelum, which now falls in Chakwal Punjab of Pakistan - who remains an “enduring inspiration”, said Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, a former Pakistani minister from Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

Paying tribute to the former Indian prime minister, Manmohan Singh, Fawad took to X (under his handle fawadchaudhry) where he wrote: “It is truly saddening to hear about the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh. The economic stability India enjoys today is largely due to his visionary policies.”

“Born in Gah village of Jhelum, which now falls in Chakwal, Punjab (Pakistan), Dr. Singh, a son of Jhelum, remains an enduring inspiration for the people of this region,” he mentioned.
