Godrej Security Solutions has announced the launch of the next generation of security products targeting the country’s banking sector.

These products include Secunex, an innovative safe deposit locker cabinet, and Autovault, the smart access anytime locker.

Lauch in phases

The launch of these security related products for the banking sector is aimed at upgrading the nearly four-decade-old safe deposit locker systems, which have not changed in form or the way they are accessed over the years.

Sarath Mohan Takasi, Regional Head, Godrej Security Solutions, said these products have been introduced in Ahmedabad and now in Hyderabad and would be launched in other cities in a phased manner .

The security industry size is estimated to be Rs 1,300 crore wherein GSS has a market share of over 60 per cent, he said.

According to the GSS study on the usage pattern of security deposit lockers, the access to bank lockers has been an extremely personal event since people tend to store most valuable possessions in such devices and that there has not been much change over the years.

New experience

With these new devices, the accent is on providing not just enhanced security but a new user experience.

GSS had tied up with Itoki of Japan to introduce Autovault, referred to as the smart access anytime locker. The fully-automated safe box storage system has minimum human interaction while accessing the lockers.

The Secunex system enables people to access their lockers by better utilisation of space, ease of providing access to lockers irrespective of their location by providing a flexible ladder and a seat facility.

The company expects Autovault and Secunex would help banks deliver a superior experience and delight their customers.
