With a view to increasing the number of Pega-certified professionals, Pegasystems Inc, which provides customer engagement solutions to enterprises, has signed an agreement with TalentSprint, a Hyderabad-based skill development company. The agreement is aimed at creating 10,000 Pega-certified professionals.

The two firms will pick eight engineering colleges in the first phase to introduce the Pega course in the third year curriculum. “They will be ready with Pega skills by the time they complete their engineering graduation,” Suman Reddy, Managing Director of Pegasystems India, said.

Addressing a press conference here, he said there was a huge demand for people with Pega skills. “On an average, the engineering graduates get 40 per cent more salary than what they get with their normal degree,” he said. It conducted a pilot in a local engineering college last year to try out the model. “After the successful pilot, we have decided to go national with the plan. We will identify more colleges across the nation to create a bigger pool of human resources that are equipped with Pega skills.”

India, which is home for over 60 per cent of the global pool of 27,000 Pega professionals, is expected to continue the leadership. “We expect the number to double in the next three years,” he said.

TalentSprint Chief Executive Officer Santanu Paul said the firm is creating a separate division to take care of the Pega needs. “We will initially train 10 resources in the speciality. The number will later grow as we induct more and more colleges to the programme,” he said.
