Traders opposed to foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail have become more savvy. On Saturday, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) released a ‘special musical anthem’ to highlight the “adverse” impact of retail FDI on people.
CAIT has appointed advertising firm RK Swamy Hansa Group to create a campaign to ‘alert people against the dangers of FDI in retail,” it said in a release. Shekar Swamy, CEO, RK Swamy Hansa, said, “Shop boards, road signage and outdoor messaging will be used to communicate the message.”
He said the campaign would be translated into all languages and would be spread to markets in urban and rural India. CAIT National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said a national traders’ rally would be held at Ramlila Grounds on March 7.
