International Paper APPM has filed an appeal in the National Green Tribunal against the closure order of its unit by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB). The petition has been admitted and the hearing will take place on July 28. The company said it is engaged in discussions with APPCB and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, APPCB had issued a closure order to the company’s manufacturing facility located at Rajahmundry, East Godavari District. Meanwhile, the company has shut down its unit due to Godavari Pushkarams and annual maintenance works (outage) from July 10 to July 26. The stock slumped 10.8 per cent at ₹299.55 on the NSE.
