Puneet Dhawan of Accor is brimming with ideas on ways to revive the hospitality sector
Leading insurance company Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has announced a Google hangout session on ‘Demystifying insurance claims’. The session will be presided and hosted by their CEO Tapan Singhel, and will be held on July 5, 2014.
With a view to providing knowledge to customers in an interesting format, the concept of webinars was realised at the firm. While ideating on customer empowerment mechanisms, it was felt that some topics were better explained when people got to hear it straight from the experts and also got the chance to get their queries responded to in real time, a statement from the company said.
Moving beyond the traditional means of communication with customers and reaching out to the public, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Google+ Hangout series is aimed at building brand awareness and inviting a healthy discussion directly between the customers and the top management of the company.
With this in mind, four Google+ Hangouts have been held so far; with the overarching theme of explaining the finer points of various insurance policies, their benefits, and ways to manage them for steady protection.
Each Hangout was hosted by a panel of experts, who fielded live questions on matters related to insurance and safety. Live chats and broadcasts were held simultaneously on Twitter and Facebook as well, so that users could check in while on the go.
Since the beginning of these Hangouts, participation and viewership has increased by 180 per cent. The company's twitter reach crossed 1.3 lakh users, while a steady increase in purchasing interest of their products was observed. Bajaj Allianz General Insurance plans to hold more such initiatives in the future.
According to a 2011 comScore report, the percentage of respondents considering purchasing insurance online in the future has risen from 28 per cent in 2008 to 34 per cent in 2011.
