Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DCIV) is looking forward to ramp up production of BharatBenz trucks up to one lakh units. The company, a wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of Germany-based Daimler AG, is expecting a ‘significant’ growth in demand for trucks of over seven tonne category. According to Mr V.R.V. Sriprasad, Vice-President, Marketing, Sales and After Sales, the company expects to utilise the existing annual capacity of 36,000 units by next fiscal. Plans are already in place to double the capacity to 72,000 units over couple of years.
