The Indian advertising industry’s annual celebration — GoaFest 2011— will be held at Varca village in the state from April 5-9 this year, officials said.

The spokesman of The Zuri Whitesands, Goa Resort, which will be hosting the event, said more than 3,000 participants are expected for the fest, which will be held at sea backdrop.

The five-day long affair organised by the Advertising Agencies Associations of India (AAAI) and the Advertising Club Bombay (ACB) is the sixth edition of the event, which has been held in Goa.

The spokesperson said the theme for the event is ‘Ideas are all around us, Can you spot one?’ The festival will kick off with an unique event in which 100-odd professionals will get a platform to showcase their unique vision at the Ad village.

The festival will also witness presentation of media and creative awards. This year, the location of the festival is important as it is being hosted by The Zuri White Sands, Goa Resort and Casino, which is spread over 37 acres.

“GoaFest is a medium to bring together the movers and shakers of advertising and explore various facets of the field in a fast-changing world. The festival is a melange of celebration peppered with creativity, knowledge, fun and entertainment in equal measure,” the spokesperson said.
