Mr Gaurav Goenka, Managing Director, Mirah Hospitality
Mirah Hospitality, which owns and operates Citrus Hotels, plans to open nine properties in the next couple of years.
“We are investing Rs 500 crore in these properties, which are in different stages of construction,” Mr Gaurav Goenka, Managing Director, Mirah Hospitality, told Business Line. Currently, the company has seven ‘Citrus' properties across the country.
The company, which has a mixed bag of business hotels (in cities) and leisure destinations, plans to continue the segmentation in the upcoming properties too. Of these, five would be business hotels, and the rest leisure properties.
Citrus Hotels, with a total of 550 keys, are now located in Allepey, Goa, Lonavala, Mahabaleswar, Pune, Bangalore and Sriperumbudur. “We want to focus more on North Indian cities now,” said Mr Goenka. With the nine properties, the hotel will have a total of 1,500 keys. Citrus Hotels are in the four-star segment.
Mirah Hospitality, which is also into the food and beverage segment, plans an investment of Rs 200 crore over the next two years in this business. The company runs the Rajdhani Thali, Café Mangii, Mad Over Donuts, Falafels and Manchester United restaurant chains across the country. Across these brands, the company currently has 120 outlets.
“We want to double our capacity in each brand over the next two years,” said Mr Goenka.
According to him, Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore are the main growth drivers for these outlets.
