Suryalakshmi Cottom Mills Limited has registered a net profit of Rs 8.70 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012, thereby registering a growth of 29.74 per cent over Rs 6.70 crore it logged for the corresponding quarter last year.
The revenue for the quarter was up 13.41 per cent at Rs 192.77 crore as against Rs 169.97 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
Paritosh Agarwal, Managing Director, Suryalakshmi Cotton, in a statement said, "We have recently commenced operations of 25-mw captive power plant at our denim division at Ramtek near Nagpur. With few expansions in queue and the festive season,
We expect a fresh demand from both domestic and international markets."
The sales for the first half increased 9.53 per cent to Rs 364.24 crore and the profit were up 5.28 per cent to Rs 17.18 crore.
