Tata Motors Dharwad plant has rolled out 10,000 Tata ACE Zips in 10 months.
The Dharwad facility, which commenced operations in March last year, produces small commercial vehicles - Tata Ace Zip and Tata Magic IRIS.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said: “The small commercial vehicle (SCV) industry has been growing at a steady pace. In FY 13, we have sold over 2.14 lakh vehicles, maintaining a growth of 26 per cent.”
“We continue to have a leadership position in the SCV market with a market share of 78 per cent in the cargo segment and 79 per cent in the passenger–carrier segment,” he added. Launched in May 2011, the Tata Ace Zip is a micro truck with a payload of 600 kg for deep-penetration door-to-door goods movement.
“The roll-out of the 10,000th Tata Ace Zip is a testament to the value we offer to our customers. This move is integral to Tata Motors' leadership presence in the small commercial vehicles market,” said Pisharody.
