Tata Value Homes Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Housing Development Company, concluded India’s first-ever online booking with sales totalling over Rs 25 crore as customers booked nearly 50 homes using credit or debit cards during the last four days.

Setting a new record and enabling consumers to book a home online for the first time in the country with a booking amount of Rs 20,000, the company achieved it by participating as the only real estate player to feature in the Great Online Shopping Festival organised by Google India, an official said.

Out of 50-plus apartments sold, around 40 per cent were bought by people from Tier-II cities while the NRIs contributed nearly 30 per cent to the overall sale, Brotin Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Housing, said.

The home sale attracted buyers from the UK, US, Kenya, Malaysia, Dubai, and Muscat globally and Indian cities such as Jodhpur, Ajmer, Baroda, Surat, Kanpur, Mangalore and Chikmagalur.

Tata Value Homes’ integrated payment gateway offered a 30:70 scheme, envisaging the buyer paying 30 per cent of the amount within 45 days of booking and 70 per cent on the possession of apartments.

On offer were nearly 350 flats/apartments in Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune where the company is developing four projects. The price-tag varied from Rs 18 lakh for a one BHK flat to Rs 50 lakh for a two BHK apartment. There were also three BHK flats on offer.

Google India had run a one-day festival last year, too, but without a real estate partner.
