Arvind Fashions Ltd, which has exclusive rights to manufacture and market US brand Aeropostale in India and some South Asian countries, is looking at sales to the tune of Rs.500 crore in the next three years in the country.

Arvind Fashions acquired the rights from the iconic youth brand Aeropostale in 2015 and has since opened 33 exclusive stores across India, catering to the youth in the 15-25 year age group.

“Last year, our sales stood at over Rs.100 crore. We are expecting to add another Rs.400 crore worth of sales in the next three years,” Sumit Dhingra, Chief Operating Officer, Heritage Brands Division, Arvind Fashions Ltd, told BusinessLine .

The company is opening its 34th outlet in India — and third in Gujarat — at Surat soon.

He said Arvind Fashions plans to add 15-20 stores for Aeropostale each year. By the end of 2018, it will have around 45-50 outlets. Besides, the brand also has 125 SIS counters across India.

In India’s warm climate, the brand is also promoting linen and denim increasingly, unlike in the US and other countries.

Aeropostale, the American youth fashion brand, focuses on the aspirational young populations. The Indian fashion market’s growth is expected to be at a CAGR of 9.7 per cent by 2026.

Arvind Ltd is a $ 1.7 billion conglomerate that started off as Arvind Mills with the aim of manufacturing high-end superfine fabrics. The company has now grown into a fashion powerhouse with a portfolio of global brands operating in segments ranging from bridge to luxury, premium and premium value.
