BGR Energy Systems has reported a 12 per cent drop in net profit during the second quarter of the current financial year as compared with the corresponding quarter previously.
The company which is into engineering, procurement and construction and balance of plant engineering and contracts for power projects has reported a net profit of ₹ 8.37 crore (₹ 9.51 crore) on a total income of ₹ 832.27 crore (₹ 694.25 crore) for the quarter ended September 30, 2015, said a press release from the company.
Total expenses during the quarter increased to ₹ 761.29 crore (₹ 629.54 crore); cost of materials consumed was up at ₹ 697.62 crore (₹ 567.30 crore); and finance costs have increased to ₹ 58.18 crore (₹ 49.57 crore).
During the quarter BGR Energy’s power project division achieved commercial operation for its second unit at Kalisindh for RRVUNL (Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd) and both units of the 2x660 MW supercritical project at Krishnapatnam for Thermal Powertech Corporation, an independent power producer, said the release
