Bharti Retail set foot in South India with the opening of its first store of Easyday Market at Mysore on Wednesday.
Terming South India as a high potential market, Mr Andrew Levermore, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Retail, said: “We are delighted to launch our first store in South India in Mysore. With this launch, Bharti Retail marks its entry in the South Indian market.”
The Easyday Market, Mysore store employs 170 people and offers 13,000 products including personal care products, stationery, household articles, hosiery items, daily-need groceries including staples, processed foods, bakery and dairy products, meat and poultry and fresh produce.
Easyday and Easyday Market stores are owned and operated by Bharti Retail, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises. The company has more than 120 ‘Easyday' neighbourhood stores in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, and 10 compact hypermarkets called ‘Easyday Market' in Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and National Capital Region.
